Oh Joy!

30th January 2007
Sunday night was beseiged by a gallstone attack - more violent than ever before, and this time almost causing me to completely black out. It was quite scary.
The pain continued on into yesterday, and I decided to leave work at lunchtime due to the pain.

Today, the pain is pretty much non existent (probably due to the amount of pain killers I've consumed!) but I have a nasty feeling of nausea. It's fairly unpleasant, but it's not painful.
On top of that, I have pretty much lost my voice.
I've had a dry throat for a couple of days (which I had put down to all the vomitting on Sunday!) and now I can barely make myself heard!!!
(all good fun!)

Anyway - tonight is the night that one of my dreams comes true. Tonight, I will be the life model for a drawing class.....
I'm not even nervous yet, but I'm sure I will be the closer it gets to being 5pm!!

The wedding fair is coming along nicely - almost organising itself now, which is a bonus!
I've had a dress donated to me to sell on the day, and I got it yesterday - it's so pretty! I'm sure it will sell for a decent price.

Less than 2 weeks until my holiday now, and then the week after that, I get to see the surgeon, and find out how much longer he's going to make me wait to be operated on, hopefully not too long!!

Anwyay - closing date for quiz entries is tomorrow, so get a move on!!!

All Systems Go!!

22nd January 2007

Whooo hooooo!!
Life is good.

Tickets for "an evening with Ska'd" officially went on sale last week - I bought the first (and hopefully not the only) two!
There has been quite a lot of interest in the evening so far - so hopefully it will be a good night. Also, there may be two support acts, so it could be an evening of THREE Ska bands- all for a TENNER!!!! Bargain night out.

The wedding fair organisation is also going well - I now have enough exhibitors to make it worthwhile, and a broad range of services relating to Weddings, so it's all cool.

I'll start advertising it this week, and hopefully it will attract a lot of people - there will also be a raffle (HolidayInn have kindly donated a weekend break as a raffle prize, and I have some bottles of Champagne).

I've also had a Wedding dress donated to me to sell - so that will bring in extra money for the charity - it's ace, people are SO generous.

Fundraising has now topped my half way mark - so it'll all be downhill from now.....!!!

Happy New Year!!

3rd January 2007

Ok, so it's here - the new year is officially here! Welcomed in with fireworks and whimpers from Tyson (oh, and some idiots on Hucclecote Road who thought it would be amusing to actually throw fireworks AT us, after seeing how scared Tyson was of them).

So, the new year is here...which means that it is THIS YEAR that I walk the Great Wall...!!
(arghhhh......scary stuff...run for cover....!!)

The fundraising is going REALLY well - I'm so pleased!! The next event in the calendar is the Wedding Fair, on the 31st March 2007 at the Holiday Inn, Crest Way, Barnwood, Gloucester.

Should be a lovely day, with lots of wedding exhibitors, and goodie bags for brides to be!

After that, the big event is "An Evening with Ska'd" - a night of pure Ska music, being held at the Guildhall in Gloucester (Eastgate Street) on Saturday 23rd June. Tickets are a mere £10 each in advance (£12 on the door, if there are any left!) and proceeds from the event will be split between Cancer Research UK and The Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU) at Gloucester Royal. It's a joint effort with my buddy Shaky - so that both of our charities benefit from the efforts. It should be a magic night - and anyone who likes Ska music should be there...!!

There are loads of things going on at the minute, things are really moving...Shaky's fundraising, I'm pleased to say is going well for him too - I should think that he will smash his target, and should be so proud of doing so!
I am hoping to reach my half way mark later this week - with the donations coming in from the wedding fair, we should do it!

In the meantime, perhaps you'd like to know how cancer research spend the money that is donated to them? Have a look here http://www.cancerresearchuk.org/aboutus/howweraisefunds/howfundsarespent/
and be amazed at how a little goes a VERY long way....

So, it's the New Year, Let's make it a Good one!!
